India has different school boards at state and central. The responsibilities of these school boards are to maintain the school education system with the help of improving education quality, maintaining curriculum, providing teaching aids, and guiding teachers and trainers about learning.

Central boards follows syllabus that are suutsuit for students all over the India.

The state boards are controlled by various states individually.

But CBSE and state boards are started following NCERT syllabus so that their students can compete in any pan India based exams.

NCERT is an autonomous body which is set up to advice various state and central educational boards about the qualitative improvement in school education.
